All new fresh / clean install of Raspberry Pi OS, but full this time rather than LITE
Left running
Last night lost WiFi connectivity and Arduino sensor readings no longer posted.

SO - we now know that it is not OS driven

CRONTAB service is running on the new install
sudo service cron status

have added
* * * * * ping -c2 192.168.1.1
and will wait and see what happens
