Every IP camera I've come across will provide an H.264-encoded video (and, I think, audio) stream. In fact usually there are (at least) two streams; one at the full resolution of the camera, and a lower resolution stream. At the cheaper end I've tried Reolink (works fine) and Veezoom (perhaps a little too cheap! But still works OK).In addition, is there any IP camera? That way, it can also be used for Pi 5 in the future.
VLC on the Pi can be used to view the stream, and IIRC Pi5 has a hardwdare H.264 decoder. (Beware that some Linux distros don't include the H.264 software decoder because of licensing concerns).
I've had 4 streams displayed on a Pi5 using both VLC and Zoneminder, although neither is reliable. Could be the network is overloaded - yet to investigate that.
Some cameras will also produce streams in other formats such as MJPEG (less efficient compression than H.264) and H.265 (more efficient).
