Where have you got a 6.7.0-rc8 kernel from? Our rpi-6.7.y branch is now on 6.7.4.Okay.. It is in HDMI0, right next to USBC power...
uname -a
Linux FPPPi5 6.7.0-rc8-v8+ #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jan 19 10:49:07 UTC 2024 aarch64 GNU/Linux
kmsprint -m
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
what(): failed to find DRM cards
Aborted
And you've obviously failed to load the vc4-kms-v3d overlay / vc4 kernel module, hence having no DRM cards.
What is this system?
And to summarise:
- video=...,rotate=X will set up the rotation for fbcon (ie the console text rendering). If the DRM plane supports suitable transformations, then it'll use those (H & V flips on vc4), otherwise it will transform the text as it is being rendered. If you use a fbdev API based app, then that will not be rotated.
- Wayfire will rotate during composition, but is totally independent of the kernel command line.
Neither situation changes the output timing that is sent to the monitor.
