How many kids spend their days entering numeric data using a ten key pad?
In light of Raspberry Pi Trading's industrial/retail sales profile, I'm tempted to reply, "Kids?" And looking around this forum ... how many of us are kids?

But I can see how the computer-in-a-keyboard might sell relatively more to retail, and within that segment, relatively more to kids.
I view the Pi 500 as a vanity project designed to continue the outreach mission of the original Pi. For me this balances the commercial volume and business focus of the compute module.

Though these two products are very different, it's nice they were released about the same time.

Maybe the Pi 500 will end up more popular than any personal computer so far in history. This may even be likely once the m.2 interface is sorted.
I'd not call it a vanity product. I think its got real legs in the thin client arena, or for small desktops in offices and shops where you just need a web browser interface to cloud systems. Why spend hundreds when you can spend hundred. In all those areas, the SD card for storage is more than adequate.
