I'm currently using a couple of perfectly good screens that I pulled out of a skip. One just needed a power cable and the other just worked straight away.+1 - as that's for sure!..
However; you might decide that buying a cheap second hand monitor that just works is a better solution for you..
Some people seem to have more money than sense..
