Well a quick interrupt is better than a lockup... How soon do you get the interrupt and do PISP_BE_STATUS and PISP_BE_BATCH_STATUS change as expected? Check also that you are setting the number of tiles, that image and tile dimensions are set correctly, and have enabled exactly one of Bayer and RGB input and at least one output.
