Greetings to everyone!
I would like to build a poor man's SLAM capable robot based on RPI + Build HAT + lego parts. The preliminary points, with regard to the configuration of software, hardware aspects etc, are:
- 2 wheel differential driving
- Need to port mcuboot onto build HAT so we can do firmware OTA (via serial interface)
- Need to port micro-ros to build HAT, so the HAT talks to RPI as a ROS2 node
- RPI runs Ubuntu + ROS2
- Implement micro-ros components to support Lego motors (and sensors too, or maybe later)
- A cheap LiDAR for mapping. There are tons of those on Chinese shopping web sites. It seems that they were recycled from broken vacuum cleaner robots. Most of them cost less than 10 bucks per piece
Opinions?
Me myself have absolute zero practical experiences on mcuboot/ROS/SLAM
so, would someone join me, especially those with strong robotics skills, or just anyone who's interested?
I'd like to name it Leemba.
