I would find it valuable for Pi OS to assume 1440p is possible if the EDID lists 1080p and 4k as options and then provide a safe way to select it in Screen Configuration.
Without that, what is the safest option for request 1440p? I'm happy to SSH into the system if I get black-screened. I have spent a good amount of time Googling this a while back without success.
