DId you install the "Bookworm" version of Raspberry Pi OS?

Kind of a silly question to ask, given that OP says:

I successfully installed Raspberry Pi OS(64 bit) to my Pi 5 and it was fine until I accepted an upgrade.

Given that Bookworm was the first (and so far only) version of Raspberry Pi OS that works (at all) on the Pi5.
