Sure I do. I just got mad tonight with the pcm5201a audio hifiberry dac...I think you need to do some more reading on the devices you have, the Pi model you intend to use, what ports they have, and how to connect them.

- I'm not an expert but you'd probably be better off using a mux designed for I2C or I2S rather than one designed for analogue signals.
the Pi5 apparently uses a different i2s protocol then there is this shared hifiberry overlay madness going on...
I forgot to add that I also have an i2s multiplexer.
The Monitor used another port and worked plug and play.
This pi52 NVDAC instead seems to suffer from the same config problems of the smaller siblings... hifiberry Overlay...
and basically absent support or documentation...
How can I check with an Analyzer that the clock and data baud rate are correct if I don't know exactly what the specs are...
I went to Digikey to find out some specs but to be able to double check in advance require to know certain details...
Which are completely missing on basically all of these DAC if not for volunteers that shares their private documentation and findings.
So... tnx for the advice...
movin on...
It's hard to find the reading material on a lot of these things...
There could be bottlenecks depending on the kind of chipset used that break some functions on HAT+ and
there as you said, you need to be able to save resources... disabling probes
add
force_eeprom_read=0
is a viable solution... I'm a noob but I'm also stubborn... I'll rinse and repeat... don't be afraid to suggest hardcore solutions if you know how.
Cheers.
