It will work on my other Pi 5 board ( A Pi 5 4GB ) but refuses to boot on my Pi 5 2GB, the only difference being the CPU revision and the RAM size....
Did you try

# apt update# apt full-upgrade
before switching the card to the D0 Pi?
I am rebuilding the kernel from scratch locally on that pi itself, so it is recent and up to date, so no need for this.
If building your own kernel and device tree then you are beyond my ability to help.

At this point I'd recommend downloading a new Raspberry Pi OS image and writing it to an extra card to make sure the hardware, at least, works.
