I downloaded the version from the Raspberry Pi website, so I guess it's the latest version. I used it on Windows 10. I don't want to erase everything again just for a similar process, I don't think I could have done a mistake with the installation to be honest.
I don't think you made a mistake with the installation. Other than innocently using a version of the Raspberry Pi Imager utility which has not been working correctly for several weeks.
Version 1.9.5 of the Imager utility for Microsoft Windows was released late (UK timezone) on Friday 11th July, and several people (including myself) have found that it now works as expected.
