But are there any dedicated IDEs left ?I do appreciate the appeal of using someone else's editor like VS Code which supports plug-ins or extensions, have done exactly that myself, but in trying to be 'all things to all men' I have always felt VS Code to be less appealing than a dedicated IDE should be.
Many vendors migrated to Eclipse over the years but companies such as STMicroelectronics are now shifting to VSCode, which now has double the users of Visual Studio which is now the second most used IDE.
I prefer Visual Studio as it integrates better with other front end and back end design tools, but as it gets supported less and less VSCode may become the only option.
