My dual band Deco S4 hardware (which was a marvellous £80 bargain) works just fine with my 17 Raspberry Pi (various models from 1B to 5B (no 4B)) some are wired, most are wireless.
I suspect there's something missing in your DietPi OS that's normally there in RaspiOS Bookworm/Trixie.
