The electrician tested the wall plug with something that had 3 green lights on and he said both sockets are good. I can't argue with the test but when he said he was busy with the next job, I told him if anything was wrong he would have taken longer anyway, so no excuse. He did say arching happens when plugging into a live socket, and that the "scorches" were scratches. I don't usually plug/unplug because the extension is left with the computer plugged in for a long time. The Raspberry Pi (now with a power button) and my previous RPI 4 made me cheat a bit (plug in, power on). I even made him watch me plug all the same plugs (excluding laptop charger that could be faulty) into my new extension but heard no "thud" or arch. Apparently the extension didn't follow the same regulations as the house mains - but hey, I will not use that lead any more.
AI was sort of helpful but when I asked him for any written explanation of the work he carried out (i.e. competent worker) he said no. Why he didn't check the fuse box for instance at the beginning?
