I have two identical Raspberry PI Zero 2W both BCM2835 and armV7I. Both are running 32 bit bookworm. For one of the pi's I have been able to boot of an external SSD drive by leaving a Microsd card attached. All the MicroSD card has boot.bin on it and nothing else. I tried the same set up on the second pi which appears to have identical hardware but it will not boot in the same fashion. For some reason it will only boot with the full OS on the sd card. What could I be missing in my set up?
