Hello and thank you very much for this write up. I was finally able to get my Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and a Module 3 camera to work following your instructions. I made just one change: I reverted back to Motion version 4.5.1 because version 4.7.0 broke my camera stream.
Now I am having issues with the Raspberry Pi freezing up after some time. I reduced the resolution of the image capture and the frame rate, I increased the swap files size to 2048 MB, but the issue persists.
I checked the system log file and it stopped logging in the middle of the night. That is when I assume the Pi froze. I have to reboot every time this happens.
Are you having this issue with your setup?
