Had the same issue on a raspberry pi 5.
I did a sudo apt upgrade on 2 September 2025.
I use X11.
After that I created a new user in linux I could use to log into xrdp.
I logged in once with that new account and it worked.
Now I wanted to try it with the admin user that did not work before.
And surprise surprise, it worked![:)]( "Smile")
