One issue / feature / bug with USB Serial is, that if you are not handling received data - and I don't know how you wold, if the Pico running the Zephyr app receives about 17 bytes it causes 'minicom', apps talking to it, or the USB driver or host to hang. Presumably the input buffer becomes full.
The Zephyr app hasn't hung - the LED keeps flashing for 'blinky', but the host ends up in a world of pain.
The worst part being that if you have been sending it Ctrl-D in the hope it's running MicroPython and you will eventually get a REPL, once you kill 'minicom' from another terminal, it treats those as buffered command line characters with Ctrl-D closing the terminal it was running in, at least it does for my remote connections.
That's something I'll be letting the Sleep Pixies dwell upon.
