So when a purchasing department changes a component for a cheaper one it's China's fault?I agree there are honest Chinese companies like JLCPCB and SMIC. But the government of a country that allows patents and copyrights to be ignored as in the case of these encoders then I'm afraid I am prepared to blame the nation. I do know what the OP's problem (whom I'm sure has long gone) is because I've seen it numerous times with purchasing departments swapping out legitimate encoders for the ten times cheaper Chinese clones ... and then demanding we come up with a fix for the problems they create.Well, yes, let's blame an entire nation for OP's problem before knowing what the reason is.
But if you want to tie down the problem with these illegitimate EC11s, of which the photo of the OP is most definitely one, to less than an entire nation, then please look at Zhongshan City. If you don't know what goes on there, you're simply not au fait with much of the electronics industry.
I'm very much au fait with most of the electronics industry, which is why I find most of your posts to be extraordinary. Intellectual Property rights have been acknowledged in China since 1980.
I don't need to look at Zhongshan City to tie down the problem with the OP's situation. Just a wiring diagram will do. I have used many of these encoders from various suppliers. They work well.
