Thanks, I followed this advice, and it worked.If the LED flashes are 3 long, 1 short, then there is some problem with the EEPROM, its content, or the communication channel to it.
Have you tried booting it with usbboot/rpiboot? You can download the source from here - https://github.com/raspberrypi/usbboot - and building it is simple. I recommend hosting it on another Pi (or another Linux machine), but it can work in Windows and MacOS. You could try the "recovery5" image: https://github.com/raspberrypi/usbboot/ ... /recovery5
I cloned the usbboot repo, used the recovery5 folder, and ran rpiboot (in my case I ended up doing it from macOS). After connecting power and USB, the CM5 finally booted and recovered successfully.
