For reference, I am using a raspberry pi os lite, newest version, and i have been using blueZ for bluetooth. I has trouble connecting to my device, but even when I connect to it, when I run this command:
pactl list short sinks
I get an error message saying:
Connection failure: Connection refused
I also got a similar error with pipewire. Both are installed and even when I run the aplay command to bypass, it is still connected to pulseaudio and doesn't run.
