Upgrading to Trixie can break older cameras like OV5647.
The sensor may be detected but fails to initialize.
Libcamera often struggles with OV5647 on the latest OS.
Legacy camera stack sometimes still works for this sensor.

Your logs show a timeout during sensor initialization.
This usually indicates a communication problem with the sensor.
Check I2C using i2cdetect -y 1 to see the device.
Ensure ribbon cable is fully seated with correct orientation.

Updating firmware and OS can help in some cases.
Sometimes forcing lower resolutions or disabling RAW fixes it.
Legacy commands like raspistill often succeed when libcamera fails.
If nothing works, the module may be incompatible or faulty.

For additional ideas, see this relevant project:
Custom Camera Module for Raspberry Pi

https://www.pcbway.com/project/share/Cu ... ry_Pi.html

It shows how to integrate older camera modules into newer systems.
This can inspire alternative ways to get OV5647 working again.
