OK, here' s a problem. Using .bashrc, the desired app really does not auto start. You must open a terminal window, then it auto starts.
Nope. Where did you get that from? It wasn't my guide.
.bashrc is a poor choice. It gets run on every login and every time you open a terminal window so you'll get multiple attempts and, eventually, multiple instances, of your application starting.
I triee @lxterminal in the autostart file but it does nothing. I expect it to launch into the terminal?
- As you've not already told us: which OS are you running and which named release of it?
- Which "autostart" file?
- Which desktop backend are you using? (If you don't know download and run https://github.com/thagrol/Guides/blob/main/gui-id.sh from a termnial insdie a running desktop)
I need the app to run with it's command line arguments upon power up.
I'm guessing you've yet to read the guide I linked to. There are multiple methods explained in there. And advice on troubleshooting them.
Tried (last line in the /LXDE/autostart file):
There is no "/LXDE/autostart file". If you created one it'll be ignored. Even if using the X11/lxde backend because that isn't where it looks for it.
1) @lxterminal
2) @lxterminal eom -f /home/.... (rest of image path)
3) @lxterminal -e eom -f /home/.... (rest of image path)
Either your "/LXDE/autostart" is not being processed or, as I mentioned in your other thread, those commands are failing with the errors discarded or sent to a log file somewhere.
Your next steps should be:
- Answer the questions above.
- Read and inwardly digest my guide (because I'm not going over its contents here for what would be the umpteenth time)
- Find and post any error messages being thrown (because without them we're all just guessing).
