Well, there's the rub... when in demo mode, none of the buttons are responsive so you cannot enter the menus in order to turn off demo mode. Demo mode can *only* be turned off with the remote control. I guess that was a 'feature' to stop kids dicking around with the display models on the shelf at Best Buy. I also tried all two-button combinations and (taking forever...) I tried all the single- and two-button presses again after powering off and on for each one, because sometimes devices have cheat modes that only work immediately on power up. No joy.I found a manual by searching for NS-DPF0812W.I picked up a brand new Insignia 8in digital photo frame (NS-DPF0812W) today at a charity shop but is was missing the remote control. Unfortunately, although the device does have buttons that can be used instead, it comes with shop demo mode enabled and the only documented way I can find to get out of demo mode is by using a particular sequence of button presses on the remote. (I've already tried many button presses with the buttons on the frame without any success.)
The manual suggests to turn off Demo Mode by pressing ▶/⏸/ENTER on the remote (that is actually one button, not a sequence). But it also says that all viewing options can be changed in the menus using the buttons on the frame or the remote. Demo Mode is an option in the eighth submenu, Factory Settings.
Did you find different documentation, or are the menu options not as described?
(btw thanks for taking the time to look for manuals, guys. I'm sorry, I should have said in advance that I had already done that and indeed the frame came with a paper copy of the same manual. It hasn't been helpful.)
