With thonny, select the interpreter from the venv you created.

Step 0: create an empty directory for the venv.
My preference is to have project folders and the venv inside this folder. Each name for the venv dir is good, but for consistency, I name these folders always 'venv'.

Step 1: Populate the venv in thonny.
Open options, interpreter. Choose the 'New virtual environment' option and select the directory created from Step 0.

Step 2: Use the venv.
In thonny, options, interpreter, choose the python interpreter which is inside the venv.
In this sample, the venv dir is myproject_1/venv, so choose myproject_1/venv/bin/python3

Step 3: Prepare for maintenance
Create a 'requirements.txt' file in the root of your project and add all the lib names you installed.
In case you drop the venv folder, this requirements file makes it easy to recreate the project setup.
