RPi Camaras don't use V4L2, it is libcamera based. I see info from 2017 w.r.t. Pi camera. MediaMTX has direct libcamera support for RPi cameras. It is just the executable + YAML file, then straight from camera to webrowser. Downside is that it is written in Go, not C/C++, but should not matter for OP I guess.Easy to install and use, reliable and it has a V4L2 direct ingest feature which could be very well suited for PI cameras
But I did not know MistServer, I will have a closer look. MediaMTX after version 12 or so has problematic hickups in streaming from foscams I noticed, very irritating, I use older version now that is fine. Have not looked into details. Also for TV-streaming from TV-HAT, disconnect.hickup issues, that I have an idea where root case is (ffmpeg transcoding A/V sync).
