So you have the serial console working, that is great. Then same issue as I had several times the past: What is the default login+password and is it enabled? Not only RPiOS but many other Linux images. I just saw today that since RPiOS Bullseye, one needs userconf.txt apparently. But I started with Stretch or older 32-bit and Buster 64-bit and always upgraded in-place so accounts all stay the same.

For testing images, I just wipe the password of the root account. Since you have a Linux computer at hand, the steps are:
- insert SD-card in Linux computer
- mount second partition at for example /tmp/2
sudo passwd -d root --root /tmp/2/
- unmount
- SD-card back in RPi you can just login as root with no password
- from there set a password and configure and/or rename user account
- also enable ssh etc, standard Linux tooling usage applies
Dear @redvli,

Thanks for your response.

Will look into this.

One of the objectives of this effort is to be least intrusive to the product delivered. First do no harm as it were.

This looks like a good option if other paths prove less fruitful.

Have sent an email this morning to the supplier asking for login credentials user-id and password for the RPi OS supplied.

A bit alarmingly comments by other purchasers note delivery of a 32-bit not the 64-bit RPi OS advertised.

Yours,
York
