It is because the first line from OP: Arducam IMX335well, why do you think you need to recompile something?
MediaMTX yaml is explicitly rpi camera. And that means only RPL HW basically. In general, this whole camera stuff is downstream proprietary. It runs on top of VC4 or RP1 silicon.
So maybe also list what HW you use and what OS, firmware, kernel, libcamera patches, etc.
go2rtc interfaces on RTSP AFAIR, is less stable for various use-case I have done. I thought is would be better than MediaMTX, but it is likely better because it is less functionality maybe, I forgot all details already.
Anyway, if only RTSP as interfacing protocol, MediaMTX also works. ffmpeg or rpicam-vid does then interfacing between camera HW+stack and RTSP/MPEGTS.
