I think my Pi5 is defective. Could someone please help me get this working or let me know it's broken so the seller will exchange it?
I just received the device a week ago and no matter what source I use (SD, USB, or M.2) it will not boot past the bios loading page. It powers on, gives me the bios read out and turns red and screen blank. If I press the power button back on, it goes straight to red and no screen. I have to unplug it and wait a few seconds, plug it back in to get the loading page. Nothing happens if you try and boot the device without an SD card or USB card. I've asked the seller to replace the pi and they said I need the FORUM here to say that it's not working properly. Oh and I should mention, the fan port on the device does not work. I've plugged in multiple fans, including from my Neo 5 case and none ever power on and spin.
What I have tried:
*Running the boot loader image from imager on SD. Waited 10+ minutes several times with all 3 settings (Boot from SD, USB and Network)
*Used 6 different sd cards, all Sandisk ultra from 128 to 512gb. Loaded several times with Raspberry Pi OS from Pi Imager.
*Used 4 different USB thumb drives, various manufacturers and sizes from 4GB to 256GB loaded with Raspberry Pi OS.
*Used a USB adapter to preload Raspberry Pi OS onto NVME Drive. Will not load from Neo Zero hat
*Used 3 different monitors, with my primary being a Pi 7inch touchscreen which works on my Pi3B, Pi4B, Pi Zero2 WH no issues.
*Used 3 different power cables, all certified Pi.
*Used a Weformey AC/DC universal adapter tuned specifically to 5V/5A 27watt.
I'm obviously no expert, but I have used pi devices for years and never had this trouble. I've read through many, many pages of tech support and none of them specifically address this issue, but I have tried everything I could come across. I need a genius and I appreciate any help in advance.
