The LED on the DHT11 flashes

There are some DHT sensors available mounted on a PCB with a LED. The LED is connected between VCC and GND (*). Usually, the 3.3V VCC should be solid, no flickering.
So check your wiring.

Also, you will not need a separate pullup resistor, as these modules already have such a resistor on board.
