Well, wouldn't expect any problems from rotating the screen to portrait (looks like it is based on a notebook display; optical sheets won't move that easiliy in such modules).
As mentioned already make use of a Vesa mount.
Your adapter should just work. Anyhow, buy a good HDMI cable.
