okay, new pi, this morning i tried what you suggested and got it working, did rpi update and it works, open auto pro didn’t break either, worked fine, i did find it to be a bit glitchy when scrolling, like a graphics issue. i dont know if this is due to the buster os or not, anyway, the other issue was the CarPlay section of Open Auto returned a blank screen when plugged in, but im unsure if this is an issue with the drivers or if it’s due to voltage and amperage issues, as the screen is powered by the 5v on gpio, maybe hampering the handshake with the iphone, versus when i tried on the HDMI counterpart it worked fine, the screen had its own power though.
i’m trying to get waveshare to hold up on the order, but in the meantime incase im stuck with DSI, do you think it’s a usb power issue from the description or an issue with buster and the screen.
I thought that if open auto pro wasn’t broken then Carplay would work, however carplay is a plugin for open auto, its own img file, so maybe that part doesn’t like the drivers.
