not sure about stability & crashes, I would try ruling out hardware failure by booting with RPI OS..
As for situation 1 & 2 if the system is still running fine after splash screen but the HDMI is just dead, I had a similar situation occur not long ago, for me the problem was failed negotiation for resolution & refresh rate causes the rpi to just shut down the port. you can force it if you know what resolution and refresh rate you want, on Bookworm it is fairly trivial, on your OS I have no clue, try google "how to override EDID on LTS" or something.. just something to try.
