I built php8.4 from the Raspbian sources, but changed a line in the Debian rules file from vfpv3-d16 to vfp2.

I installed over the standard version with dpkg and it now works :-)

Code:

rpdom@raspi14:~ $ php -vPHP 8.4.11 (cli) (built: Aug 3 2025 07:32:21) (NTS)Copyright (c) The PHP GroupBuilt by DebianZend Engine v4.4.11, Copyright (c) Zend Technologies with Zend OPcache v8.4.11, Copyright (c), by Zend Technologies
@rpdom, I have

Code:

php-cli/testing,now 2:8.4+96 all [installed]php-common/testing,now 2:96 all [installed,automatic]php-curl/testing,now 2:8.4+96 all [installed]php-intl/testing,now 2:8.4+96 all [installed]php-sqlite3/testing,now 2:8.4+96 all [installed]php8.4-cli/testing,now 8.4.11-1 armhf [installed,automatic]php8.4-common/testing,now 8.4.11-1 armhf [installed,automatic]php8.4-curl/testing,now 8.4.11-1 armhf [installed,automatic]php8.4-intl/testing,now 8.4.11-1 armhf [installed,automatic]php8.4-opcache/testing,now 8.4.11-1 armhf [installed,automatic]php8.4-readline/testing,now 8.4.11-1 armhf [installed,automatic]php8.4-sqlite3/testing,now 8.4.11-1 armhf [installed,automatic]
Would you please explain the steps you took to achive this, as I would like to do the same for the above packages?
