I have a project in mind but can not for the life of me find the right board to start on, my project consists of a RPi board acting as a USB Host and a USB 2 Capture card connected to it, it needs to capture the incoming HDMI signal and send it as NDI or RTSP over ethernet. has such thing been done? It will be a headless setup and would be better if it just passes the date through instead of decoding and encoding again.
Can RPi zero or zero 2 handle such task in 1080p 30hz configuration or is it too much to ask?
With a meagre 512MB of SDRAM on both the models you cite I suspect handling video may not be possible to the degree you hope for.
