I figured it out, installing F-Droid is a 2 step process, install the .apk from a thumb drive and THEN installing that privileged version from recovery mode. I didn't read my previous notes well.Google's Android TV launcher that comes with GApps (and replaces the default launcher) only shows app icons for native Android TV (leanback UI) applications.I've used your lineage ATV builds for years. On rpi4 running ATV 22.2, when I install the latest org.fdroid.fdroid.privileged.ota_2130.zip from recovery mode, wipe, and reboot, the app doesn't show up anywhere. I've taken notes for each version's install quirks since 17, I'm not finding any answers, what am i missing? Thanks.
LIneageOS' default Catapult Android TV launcher shows all applications IIRC. There's also a smaller MindTheGapps Android TV package that doesn't replace the launcher.
You can still start any regular application from Settings -> Applications (given installing this fdroid package has succeeded, I don't know what it is).
My setup with your builds are very privacy oriented. I've always used F-Droid to download Aurora Store (connects to Google Play Store with a burner account to download things like Spotify, Kodi), a VPN app, and NewPipe (for youtube) to avoid using Google Play Store on the device.
