I've had a system running a Lighttpd and PHP 7.0 system for a while now. I took the precaution to include error reporting clauses just to catch the odd faux-pas. All good until I decided to do some major updates. Being a bit cautious I built a sandwich box system which ended up with later more up your date web server/PHP.
Turns out simply transitioning the original software from PHP 7.0 to 7.3 caused a load of warnings that simply stuffed the web pages generated. Seems the updated version is now a whole lot more picky on having empty or missing input parameters. I've yet to find anything else but have managed to update the original with minimal input..
This is one to watch when deploying older and working software on top of newer, perhaps pickier, servers.
