My assumption, FWIW, (perhaps not much), was that the kernel mode setting was just for the duration of the kernel booting. That once a desktop was displayed, some other config was in control. Like the kanshi config.
Once of the monitors to which I might attach these pi’s is a Dell 4k monitor. If I don’t do the kernel mode setting, the text during the initial boot is eensy-beensy, and these old eyes can’t read it. Do you have any suggestions about how else to set both the boot-time and desktop resolutions, without messing up the Connect resolution?
Remember that this anomaly occurs when the monitor is NOT attached and I’m viewing things over Connect, which shouldn’t be caring about hardware at all.
