30C to 50C is quite normal with PI5 at idle, mine are at the upper end. When you say the "cooler", which cooler are you talking about?
iRasptek Active Cooler:The active cooler is made of high-quality anodized aluminum with a high-performance PWM fan, which is able to effectively reduce the temperature of Pi 5 and ensure that it maintains good performance during long periods of high load operation.

The top is off the plastic case so I can direct the fan onto it.

You don't need the second fan, the active cooler in the iRasptek kit is the official Raspberry Active cooler.

Looking at one of my Pi5 with active cooler its been running a 4.20 load for 15 days and CPU temperature is 63C, active cooler fan is running at 5200rpm. Room temperature is about 23C. It is in a plastic case but has a plastic grid top on it.
